Careers | Electrical & Power Engineer

Electrical & Power Engineer

Objective

As Electrical & Power Engineer, you will take ownership of the electrical and power systems design for grid-scale battery energy storage projects. From early design through construction and commissioning, you will ensure that systems are safe, compliant, optimised, and fully integrated with the grid. Working closely with EPC partners and internal teams, you will play a key role in delivering reliable, future-proof energy infrastructure.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

You will own the electrical and power design for BESS projects and associated balance-of-plant, covering load sizing, grounding, auxiliary systems, SCADA interfaces, and grid connections. Acting as a technical authority, you will provide leadership across all project phases, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate core power-engineering activities such as load-flow studies, protection and control schemes, fault-level analysis, and grid interconnection. Beyond delivery, you will actively look for opportunities to optimise system performance, reduce lifecycle costs, and apply best practices and emerging technologies.

Working with suppliers and contractors, you will ensure that designs are executed as intended and meet all applicable electrical standards and codes. You will prepare and review technical documentation and support internal teams during engineering, construction, and commissioning.

Collaboration is central to the role. You will work closely with civil, mechanical, controls, and software teams to deliver fully integrated solutions, while supporting Project Engineers, Construction Managers, and PECM teams. You will proactively identify technical risks, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and help resolve issues before they impact delivery.

Communication & Leadership

You will serve as the primary technical point of contact for electrical and power-system topics, providing clear updates on scope, planning, and technical challenges. You will share lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement across future projects.

You will have the authority to make key technical decisions, approve designs and specifications, and recommend suppliers and contractors based on technical performance and fit.

Travel

The role includes domestic and international travel in line with project locations.

What You Bring

You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, and bring at least five years’ experience in grid-connected energy projects such as BESS, wind, or solar. You have strong hands-on experience with HV electrical and power systems and a proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.

Familiarity with Dutch and/or German grid codes is a strong advantage. You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office and power-system modelling tools such as PSS/E or ETAP, with knowledge of AutoCAD and data-visualisation tools considered a plus.

How You Work

You are a confident and clear communicator, a proactive team player, and a trusted technical leader. You take ownership of your work, prioritise safety and reliability, and are motivated by delivering high-quality, sustainable outcomes.

Success in this role is measured by the timely and compliant delivery of electrical work packages, effective coordination with teams and contractors, and tangible improvements in system performance and project execution.
